Cleanrooms, Contamination Control

A well designed cleanroom or controlled environment is essential to minimize contamination of critical product. At the same time, cleanrooms are very expensive real estate. We think it’s amazing that manufacturers spend considerable time and money in designing and certifying a cleanroom or controlled environment; they may assume that fabrication will take care of itself. Simply conducting a process in a cleanroom will not correct a contaminated product and may not prevent contamination from poorly-designed processes.

We’re different. We focus on the cleanliness of the product being assembled in the cleanroom.

"Barbara has an amazing depth of knowledge in her field of cleaning and contamination control. Her focus on detail is beautifully counterbalanced with her clear and humorous communication style. You can't find a better expert than Barbara."

Our search for sources of contamination often begins at earlier stages of assembly, long before the product reaches the cleanroom.  BFK Solutions works with your engineering staff, your production people, your cleanroom designer/installer, your facilities group, your supply chain. Examples of our activities include

• Determining what processes should not be conducted in a cleanroom.

• Assessing new cleanroom design.

• Troubleshooting process and performance issues in existing cleanrooms.

• Evaluating process design, product flow, and product handling.

• Tracking down sources of contamination, both particulate and thin film/airborne molecular contamination – before, during, and after cleanroom operations.

• Minimizing product contamination before, during, and after critical cleaning.

• Reviewing assembler/operator practices.

• Conducting education programs that correct cleanroom behavior problems.
